When physical touch becomes unwelcome, the body turns to other interfaces for community contact, intimacy. Where skin ends is where a screen might begin, fusing the body's neural networks with electrical ones extending its surface and systems and infinitum.

Networked Bodies reconsiders embodied interactions in a world where touch has been dramatically altered. How does technology mediate new forms of intimacy and care by transposing the body through space and time? How does communication look and feel through these new appendages and organs?

More simply: when our bodies are stuck and our minds yearn for each other, how can we reach beyond the screen to create new sensory experiences?
